SUMMARY:Raising Tech Safe Kids Seminar
DESCRIPTION:Chuck Hagele will be presenting morning seminars throughout Michigan Conference Camp Meeting.  Join us for a Free seminars focused on raising kids who are able to live responsibly and socially in a tech filled world. \nThese free workshops help parents raise kids in the world of technology.  Kids need to be able to own the “off switch” before they leave home. Learn the risks your child faces online as well as tools to prepare them for life.  Whether you are a parent of young kids\, teens or even a grandparent\, you will benefit from attending. \nMonday\, June 19 – Life Ready Kids \nParenting can be hard and the days are long We can lose track of our long-term goals as a parent and overly focus on the present Many parents are surprised when their kids don’t seem to grow up or be prepared to live as adults.  This seminar focuses on raising great adults rather than simply raising “good” kids. This seminar shares a model to help us stay focused on long term needs of our kids. \nTuesday\, June 20– How to Communicate with Kids Who Don’t Want to Talk \nWe want to connect with our kids to both understand the challenges they are facing and to guide them in growing up.  This session explores tools and skills which increase the likelihood of kids sharing about important topics.  We will also work on what to do when they share and how we can use these conversations to help our kids make wise decisions. \nWednesday\, June 21 – Raising Kids Safely in a Pornographic World \nIt is highly likely that our kids will exposed to pornography before they are adults. This seminar will explore what causes vulnerability to pornography use as well as important steps parents can take to raise tech safe kids.  Our kids need parents who are prepared to talk about difficult topics.  Prevention and recovery starts with our kids having a personal “why.”  This session will focus on the idea of full brain joy\, active recovery and tools to help kids who are being attacked by memories and sexual thoughts. \nThursday\, June 22 – The Video Game Antidote  \nVideo games are designed and highly engineered to make them hard to quit.  Just like a great author knows how to end a chapter in a way to keep you reading late into the night\, game makers know what keeps people playing.  They just have more resources and tools than an author.  This session will explore why video games can be addicting\, how to identify whether our kids are addicted and most importantly\, steps to help our kids find freedom.  The goal of this session is to explore how we can equip our kids to own their own “off” switch by the time they leave our homes. \nFriday\, June 23 – Disconnected in a Connected World: Our kids and social media \nSocial media can connect people and be fun.  Yet it also has a dark side which can fuel dissatisfaction\, people pleasing\, identify conflict\, isolation and lead to intimidation and bullying.  This session explores why teens are drawn to social media and what platforms they use the most.  We explore how to create conversations and appropriate use of social media. We focus on helping parents have a strong voice on identify\, self-image and values. \nBrought to you by Family Ministries Department – Michigan Conference of Seventh-day Adventists\n \n  \n\n\n	Related
