Kim first came to Project Patch in February 2026 as a graduate intern while completing dual master’s degrees in social work and business administration at Union University. After graduating and becoming a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in May 2026, she was happy to continue at Project Patch as a full-time member of the team.
Kim’s path to social work has been anything but ordinary. After earning a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, she spent time working at a hostel in Honduras, cooking in Michigan and Georgia, caring for others as a nursing assistant in Washington, and working as a certified surgical technologist in Indiana and California. In 2015 and 2017, she spent her vacation time volunteering with medical mission teams in Guatemala, where American and Canadian medical professionals worked together to provide free surgical services.
When she’s not working, Kim enjoys a good book or movie, gardening, practicing her Spanish, traveling, and finding just about any excuse to be in or near the water during the summer.
